The STORM consortium is a high-profile well-balanced consortium consisting of research organizations, academic institutions and stakeholder network organization. The partners bring their unique and complimentary experiences and expertise in the relevant research fields thus forming a capable consortium. The Consortium has all the expertise needed to reach the objectives in domains covering the project objectives and goals and contributing successfully to the expected impacts of the call. 

Consortium partners

VTT (Finland) is a large state-owned R&D organization. It provides research and innovation services and information for domestic and international customers and partners, both in private and public sectors. Research Area of Mobility and Transport has an excellent record of projects in development mobility solutions, alternative fuels, emission control, electrical powertrains and storage systems, as well as in deployment of methodological, simulation, planning and assessment tools for passenger and road transportation, altogether complemented by the up to date research and laboratory facilities. In STORM VTT will act as a project Coordinator, as well as will contribute to a varying extent in all project activities.

Fraunhofer ISI (Germany) – is a large applied R&D organization with different focus areas. In this project different business units for mobility and energy are contributing with their expertise in: transport modelling, socio-economic systems modelling, scenario development and forecasting, infrastructure accounting and transportation cost analysis and policy design in the fields of traffic safety, congestion, climate and environmental effects, external costs, economic impacts, acceptability, business models, new technologies, innovation deployment and policy strategies. In STORM, Fraunhofer is taking a leading role on the identification of knowledge and methodological gaps in the freight sector and elaboration of novel methods and concepts.

Chalmers University of Technology (Sweden) is a well known university, which has a excellent record of research in the areas of Sustainable Vehicle Technologies and Transport. It brings to this project the knowledge and experience in energy economics and energy system modelling, alternative transportation fuels, sustainability standards, technological change, consumer behaviour and mobility along with the experience in systems and data modelling.

Czech Technical University in Prague (Czech) – Department of Logistics and Management of Transport has an excellent track in research of transportation theory on a broader economic background as a frame for logistics systems, development of intensification functions of transportation processes, technology and transportation processes management the research is oriented to applications of the fundamental research of the transportation theory into each technical mode of transport and their combination in multimodal transportation systems, management of logistics systems and transportation logistics. In STORM, CTU is contributing with its expertise in the logistics and freight domain to reach out interested stakeholders, in identifying new data sources, in elaboration of novel methods and concepts, case scenario building, as well as in outlining the future directions and dissemination of results.

ERTICO (Belgium) is a well known EU stakeholder organization which will support the works knowledge gaps analysis by consulting and interviewing public and private stakeholders in the areas of transport and logistics and clean mobility, such as vehicle manufacturers, service providers, suppliers, traffic and transport industry, mobile network operators, research institutions, public authorities, end users’ associations. ERTICO will organise a workshops bringing together all these actors to exchange views, knowledge and practical experience in order to identify gaps and prioritise work on specific research questions and indicators identified in line with the objectives of the STORM project. Outcomes of this activity will be used by the R&D partners, and ERTICO will then also contribute to revise and expand the findings in order to elaborate synthesized recommendations. In addition, ERTICO will contribute to maximise the impact of the STORM project through dissemination and communication activities targeting different stakeholder’s groups and the wider public.
